Caravans for sale in Yorkshire, how did it all begin?

Albion Service Station was first developed as a petrol station and vehicle garage in about 1955 and was run by Bill & Joyce Powell who then changed the name to Albion Caravans.

In 1961 the dock strike caused a serious export problem for Mardon Caravans. As they ended up having caravans stuck on the dockside in Hull. Luckily by chance Bill & Joyce Powell and Mardon Caravans shared the same bank manager!.

Then the first new Mardon caravan arrived for sale in the Summer of 1961. By about 1970 Bill had decided to stop dealing in cars and concentrate wholly on caravans.

On the 1^st January 1989 Stephen Fowler bought the caravan business, following Bill & Joyce Powell’s retirement and continued to sell new Mardon caravans until they ceased manufacturing in 1992. Since then he has continued selling used caravans, plus providing caravan services, repairs and parts.
